About the St. Mary's River Walleye Cup

Northern Ontario Walleye Trail Anglers are eager to visit the world famous waters of the St. Mary’s River for the seventh and final stop of the NOWT’s annual schedule in September of 2024 in Sault Ste. Marie.

This body of water historically produces some monster weights in the early fall months and it looks like the timing for this event may be perfect.

About the Area...

The St. Mary’s River system has something for everyone.  Anglers will have the flexibility to use familiar fishing techniques or take the opportunity to learn something new on the Sault’s waters.

The NOWT features lake and river systems throughout the circuit, so it is only fitting that the final competition every season provides anglers with both!

Getting Here...

Sault Ste. Marie is located at the "hub" of the great lakes in Northern Ontario.

"The Sault" as it is affectionately named can be access from the North or East via the Trans Canada Highway 17, as well as from the South via the Interstate (I-75) Highway coming from the state of Michigan.

Where to Stay...

There are several very nice hotels, cabin rentals and campgrounds in the area for our anglers to stay at.

We encourage all anglers to support our sponsors' establishment and these amazing partners for our event will be announced soon!

A good summary of places to stay can be found on the Tourism Sault Ste. Marie website here.
